This is a multi-backed series and this card can be found with six different back designs. Some of the so-called sports are frowned upon today, whilst others have so far failed to get Olympic recognition.

A set of cards issued in China, I don't know the correct title for the set, or the name of the issuing company. I haven't seen all the cards, but all the Manchester United players appear in their club kit.

I don't seem to have any record of these. If anyone knows anything about them I would be glad to hear from them. The magazine is issue number 192 from September, 1968.
UPDATE (10-12-2022 14:11):  Added a scan of the original artwork for the cover of the comic.

Backs have various series numbers, detailed on the 4th line on the back stating series consisting of:
120 players
282 players
nearly 500 players

The Jock Simpson card is unusual in that it is unnumbered and has a biography printed on the reverse side, as shown above.
UPDATE (04-07-2015):  Ton Pentre players added. I originally thought they would have been a rugby team, even though Ton Pentre were in the Southern League at the time. The cards depict footballers not rugby players.
UPDATE (04-07-2015):  Peter Clarke has informed me that the Huddersfield team at nos. 301-309 in this collection is the Northern Union (Rugby League) team and nothing to do with Huddersfield Town, as card number 309 is Albert Rosenfeld, one of the 1908/09 Australian tourists who were offered contracts at English clubs.
UPDATE (05-07-2015):  Peter Clarke has forwarded some more amendments to the checklist, which completes the Oldham N.U. subset and also added a variation for card no. 165.
UPDATE (16-07-2015):  Matthew Zubrot has kindly provided the names of the missing Hull Kingston Rovers players. We are still looking for some Ebbw Vale, Llanelly and Neath players, along with one St. Helens player.
